Thomas cook reduces 1 reservations for summer despite the impulse of the british market

Reservations for the summer 2015 Thomas Cook held altogether 1% below last year, with 54% of the sold program. Their good results in the British market, with a rise of 4% reservations have not been able to compensate down.

On this transmitter the average price fell 1%, due mainly to the increase in the total proportion of sales of aircraft seats only, although in the case of packages, it goes up 2%.

However, in Continental Europe, where the main transmitter is the German market, stocks are a 4% below prices in line with last year, while the market conditions indicate a gradual improvement with a persistence of the trend towards later bookings this year.

In the Nordic markets also kept a decline of 5%, due to the reduction of capacity and also because of the economic weakness in the case of Norway. Also in this area, there is a trend towards late booking this season.

In the case of the division of Germany airlines bookings have risen by 8%, with a rise in the average price of 1%. The demand for hotels concept has risen by 20%, while booking online through have risen 10%.

For winter 2014-15, there has been a breakthrough of the reserves of 1% on the previous year, with strong momentum in the United Kingdom market, which grew by 9%, while in Germany fell by 2% and in Nordic countries 1%.

CEO of Thomas Cook, Peter Fankhauser has commented that “our reserves for the whole year are developing well, especially in the United Kingdom and for the airlines in Germany. The harsh conditions in which we inform you previously in some markets are showing worthy of better and our new product initiatives and winters of Sun are leading the growth. I trust continue to rigorously develop our strategy, we will enhance further the development of the business”.
