The rate of unemployment in tourism comes to 172

Thus reflects it the survey of population (LFS) data released Wednesday by the Institute of tourism studies.

The number of employed fell 1.3 per cent from October to December to 2 million people.

The Institute of tourism studies ensures that the year on year decline in occupied in tourism is due to the negative behaviour experienced by self-employed workers (- 7.1%) since employees grew by 0.4% from the previous quarter.

However, the rate of unemployed persons in the tourism sector is located 5.6 points below the average of the national economy, which stands at 22.8%. A year ago this national rate is located at 20.3%.

By activity, the greater number of unemployed was concentrated in hospitality (accommodation and catering) with 321.812 unemployed, with a rate of unemployment of 19.5%, while passenger transport sector added other unemployed 14.431, representing a rate of 5.1%.
