The government approves a new plan of support for trade and tourism shopping

For the third consecutive year, the Council of Ministers has approved the Integral Plan of support to the competitiveness of the retail trade, which will have a budget of five million euros, 400.00 euros more than last year. This measure will also give greater impetus to the shopping tourism.

The plan includes 34 measures to promote competitiveness, in particular of small trade, a “very important” economic sector “, as explained, the Vice President of the Government, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría.

The activities of the project are part of a collaboration agreement signed with the Chamber of Commerce of Spain and with them will also give greater impetus to shopping tourism and the revitalization of the traditional shopping areas. In its previous editions, the plan benefited 38.691 establishments – 13.633 in 2013 and in 2014 25.058-.

Includes support for unique projects that involve the transformation of commercial equipment and special actions of modernization in large touristic zones or municipalities with a regime of freedom of opening.

Is divided into ten axes of actions aimed at innovation technology, which, inter alia, include promoting the open malls and municipal markets, financial support to companies, trade promotion, the imposed respite generational entrepreneurs and the use of the synergies between commerce and tourism.

Will continue to work in projects of revitalization of urban shopping centers, especially in those that have effect on shopping tourism, and workshops related to travelers such as promotion, specific to foreign customers attention (mainly Chinese, Russian, Brazilian) and management of the tax free. In addition, is specifically incorporated the Shopping Tourism Plan, presented in November.
