Starwood provides a strong expansion in latin america with 13 new projects
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced that it is preparing a strong expansion in Latin America and the Caribbean in the coming years. The company has achieved 94 hotels in the region with the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Cancun Centro, and has 13 hotel projects to be launched until 2017.
“2014 has been a great year for Starwood in Latin America and the Caribbean, with growth in both sides of our business,” says Vice President senior and director of operations for Starwood Latin America and Caribbean, Jorge Giannattasio. “the demand for trips of business and leisure and interest in our innovative brands increased as evidenced by the strong growth in openings and” signatures, the two pillars of our aggressive expansion strategy”.
In 2014 the chain signed eight new hotels in Latin America, including the opening of three establishments under the The Luxury Collection brand and five under the brands of mid-range Four Points by Sheraton and Aloft. Mexico was the destination with more additions, with five firms in total.
