Spanish airports scheduled 168 million seats this summer
Airlines have scheduled at the airports of the Aena network 168,8 million seats for the summer season, which begins March 29 and ends on 24 October 2015.
The Ministry of public works announced that this forecast represents an increase of 4.5% compared to the same period in 2014. In addition, the number of programmed moves also increases 3.6%, with more than one million.
Building has stated that “these figures, which are subject to changes by the airlines, reflect a use by airlines of aircraft with greater capacity”.
Who benefit most airports are Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas airport, which maintained the upward trend with an increase of seats scheduled 12.3%, with more than 36 million, and the airport of Barcelona – El Prat, where companies are planning to offer more than 32 million seats, 5.2 percent more than in the summer of 2014 season.
In the Palma de Mallorca airport the number of seats is 23 million (0.9%), while in the Sun of Pablo Ruiz airport scheduled places are 11.8 million (2.1%) and in the Alicante – Elche 8.4 million (1.6%).
Other airports, include increases in the number of places offered by the companies in Menorca (11.9% with 3.2 million); Seville (10.7% with 3.2 million); Valencia (9.9% more with 4 million); Jerez (7.6% more with more than 700,000 seats); Santiago (7.4% more with almost 2 million seats); Santander (7% more with more than 800,000 seats); Bilbao (7% more with 3.6 million); and Vigo (6.3% with more than 625,000 squares).

The Ministry explained that it has been an increase in the supply with Middle East, experiencing a growth of 36.6% with almost two million seats scheduled for 2015 summer season.
Also grows the commitment to Africa, with one 14.1% increase in seats offered (2.6 million), and the American market, with one 7.7% increase in seats with North America (2.6 million seats) and a 6.9% with Latin America (4.6 million seats). The companies have scheduled more than 400,000 seats with Asia (up 6.9%) and 104 million with Europe (2.9% more).
“These data confirm the upward trend of international tourism,” explained building. The offer of seats on the domestic market is increased by 5.9%, with more than 51 million people bound for Spanish airports.
Countries where companies have offered the largest number of seats and movements for the 2015 summer season are United Kingdom (28.8 million) and Germany (20 million). Where most increased the offer is in France, with one 12.7% more scheduled seats (9.6 million), and Switzerland and Portugal, with growth of 9.6% (4.6 million) and 9.5% (2.4 million people), respectively.
