Nine new ships will join the carnival fleet until 2022
Carnival Corporation has announced that it has signed two strategic memorandum for the construction of nine new ships that will be added to the company’s fleet between 2019 and 2022, agreements that include the possible addition of a greater number of ships including.
The Italian Shipyard Fincantieri and Germany’s Meyer Werft will be in charge of the construction of the new cruise ships, with designs of new generation and being the most efficient company.
The new boats will be incorporated to the fleet in North America and Europe, as well as in new markets, like China. Each one will be designed for the brand and the type of customers that will be used.
“We are excited to take this next step in the plan for the improvement of our fleet with these two new agreements which are in line with our long-term strategy of moderate growth in capacity over time,” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Corporation, Arnold Donald. Adds that it will be more efficient boats that have never told the company that will offer a great experience to customers.
According to the shipping company, Fincantieri will build five boats in the shipyards of Monfalcone and Marghera, Italy, while Meyer Werft is responsible for four, that will develop in Papenburg, in Germany, and Turku, in Finland.
