Iberian mice forum presents the pros and cons of the rfp platforms for meeting tourism

The platforms online RFP (Request for Proposal) has its detractors and defenders in the MICE industry. While the receptive agencies, Convention Bureau and other professionals use them as mere auxiliary tools, some hotels will consider them an alternative to the usual brokerage in meeting market. This debate was the contents of one of the days of the latest edition of the Iberian MICE Forum.

Business and training are the axes of this tenth edition of the Iberian MICE Forum, held between 26 and 28 of March in Madrid. At the training session that took place this Friday, under the title “Online Meeting RFPs: Trends, Tips & Techniques“, has been discussed on the RFP platforms, analyzing their pros and cons.

The Rapporteur of this training session, Alda Egurrola (member of MPI Spain and responsible for development of Cvent for Europe), has analyzed these tools, and it has given rise to an interesting debate between buyers and sellers of the segment MICE.

What has been raised at this session are the limitations of those RFP devoted to the intermediation in Exchange for a Commission on, which abounds with the typical package of hotel rooms, meeting rooms and little more. offer considered very limited by professionals of the brokerage services, to advocate that these platforms cannot replace face-to-face and personalized service.
