Iata agencies sales have not recovered to pre crisis levels

Should be recalled that in the fall of 2008 the sector of Spanish travel agencies began to feel the debacle that began, and 2009 reflected starkly with declines of about 30% in the volume of sales, in addition to witness the first waves of closings of agencies . One of the indexes reference of the activity of the agencies is the production of the IATA BSP. In 2008 the Spanish Agency sold a total of 5.737 billion euros from flights of Agency IATA, amount to experiment a drastic fall of 18% in 2009. And in successive years of the crisis the BSP production continued falling until bottoming in 2012 with a total of 3.742 billion euros. From that year production has grown little by little until the 4,500 million euros by 2015 and end up closing 2017 with a total of 4.727 million euros, what has been a growth of almost 3% on 2016. However, figures sing and, despite the recovery of the past few years, the 2017 still are 1,000 million euros in the 2008 distance. I.e., we are now in the 2009 figures, and 18% of those of the pre-crisis era. However, these figures should clarify them taking into account that in recent years have significantly grown sales of low-cost companies (that are not IATA) between travel agencies. And also there is less agencies licensed IATA (50% of the total now), even though they have access to those flights through Consolidators.  .
