Fitur generated an economic impact of a 200 m in madrid

Fitur 2015 generated an economic impact on the city of Madrid, which exceeded 200 million euros of induced income, according to the organization.

In total, the international tourism fair, Fitur 2015, closed its 35th edition with 222.551 visitors including the weekend, 2.1% more than in 2014.

, 125.085 were professional visitors, 5% more than a year ago from 139 countries.

The number of international visitors increased 12%.

The contest brought together a 4% more of companies, until 9.419, reported the organization.

The fair hosted 688 exhibitors stand holders, one 13% increase, from 165 countries, covering an area of 56.233 square meters exhibition, one 4% increase.

The global budget of the fair was 10.5 million euros.

During the five days of Fitur, the economic impact on the city of Madrid exceeded 200 million euros, induced income, according to the Organization, which emphasizes that successful participation record coincided with the best data of the tourism industry in Spain and around the world.

Fitur 2015, which was inaugurated by the Kings last January 28, counted with the participation of 51 Ministers of tourism from all five continents.

The fair works already in its 36 call to be held from 27 to 31 January 2016.

Sectoral balance

according to final data, and in accordance with the sectoral representation, 31.3% of exhibitors belonged to the hospitality sector; 27.2% to official bodies; 12.4% to wholesalers, travel agencies and receptive and 8.3% professional associations.

In addition, 7% were limited to the field of leisure and culture, 5.4% were service companies, 2.5% of transport, 2.1% of incentives, meetings and congresses, equal percentage than companies in technology and know-how, 1.1% health enterprises, 0.8% to media and 0.2% to residential tourism.

For the professional visitors, 23.6% were wholesalers, travel agencies and receptive, 14.8% of the hospitality industry, 9.8% of service companies, 8.4% of official bodies, 7.4% of leisure and culture and 6.4% transport.

In addition, among the visitors of the sector 5.3% came from national offices of tourism and foreign promotion bodies, same percentage as the coming of the MICE segment, 4.4% of professional associations, 4.2% media, 3.9% of technology firms, 3.4% of residential tourism and 3.3% of health tourism.
