Colombian agencies sold 10 more
Colombia travel agencies exceeded $4.4 billion (about 3.9 billion euros) in sales during the past 2014, representing a 10% increase from the year before, according to estimates of the Colombian Association of travel and tourism (Anato) agencies.
Of that total turnover of all the Colombian sector of agencies, about $ 1.8 billion corresponded to air product sales, with a total of more than five million tickets sold. For its part, the sale of packages was a stud for the sector of more than $ 2.6 billion, according to Anato.
On the type of activity, issuing business has grown as between agencies in that country in recent years, especially in the sale of packages. In this sense, Anato highlights that the 60% of the total sales correspond to packages and cruises, among others, while the airline tickets account for 40% of marketing, which is 57% 43% international and domestic ticketing.
In Colombia currently has more than 5,000 travel agencies, of which 63% are retail (3.255), 31% also do your own product (1.593) and 6% are purely wholesalers (300).
