Carnival wins 45 m a in its first fiscal quarter from losses
Carnival Corporation recorded earnings of 49 million dollars (45 million euros) in its first quarter ended February 28, 2015 fiscal, against losses of 20 million dollars (18.5 million euros) in the same period of 2014.
The turnover of the group reached $3,531 million (3.258 million euros), which represented a decrease of 1.5% from 3.585 million of dollars (3.307 million euros) from the previous year.
Revenues from sales of tickets were 2632 million dollars (2,430 million euro), which indicates a drop of 3.4%. However, the expenditure on board, which came to 889 million dollars (821 million euros), rose 4.5%.Also went up income for excursions, from 8 to 10 million dollars (from 7 to 9 million euros).
Face to 2015 for the company reserves are above the levels of last year, with higher prices, which means overcoming a “historic” year according to the company, both in sales and prices.
Carnival expected to end the year with an increase in revenues of between 3% and 4%, and time improving them between 2% and 3% for the second quarter.
