Barcelona in the top 10 destinations for us agencies
London tops the list of the most popular international destinations for the summer 2015 according to a study conducted by the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) among its members. Barcelona is included in the top 10, in sixth place.
According to the report, London accounts for 7% of the reserves, followed by Rome, with another 7% and Paris, with 6%. Cancun has 4%, Punta Cana 3% and Barcelona 1%, a percentage which shares with Florence, Venice, Dublin and Riviera Maya.
The four first cities retained his post, in the past 13 years. However, they are new in the list Dublin and Venice, which expelled by Amsterdam and Montego Bay.
Within the United States, Orlando leads the most popular destinations, being designated by 17%, followed by Las Vegas (13%), San Francisco (4%), New York City (3%), Miami (3%), Los Angeles(2%), Anaheim (2%), San Diego (2%), New Orleans (2%) and Washington, D.C. (2%).
“Orlando and Las Vegas have had no changes since we published our ranking for the winter, and in fact, have been at the top for 13 years in a row,” says President and CEO of ASTA, Zane Kerby. This has expressed his satisfaction for the inclusion of Washington D.C. in the top 10 this year, and in fact says that the Association will bring its contribution with the presence of hundreds of travel agents in the ASTA Annual Convention next month of August.
