B travel is born as a new fair of tourism experiences
The new tourist lounge B-Travel, which takes to the old Salon international tourism of Catalonia (SITC), will open its doors on April 17 in the fairground of MontjuÃ¯c in Barcelona.
And is that after 23 years, the SITC begin “a new stage more oriented to the traveling experiences”, as reported by Fira de Barcelona.
The organizers expected to exceed 27,000 visitors to the SITC of last year, reaching audiences that, until now, did not attend the classroom thanks to the new specialization in tourism experiences.
, From 17 to 19 April salon B-Travel will present proposals specializing in family, eno-gastronomic, cultural, nautical, rural, adventure, shopping, cruises, wellness or tourism aimed at the gay community, among other tourist options, that will offer the destinies of proximity and more than 50 countries and regions around the world.
B-Travel, Marta Serra, Director for “has evolved towards a model of classroom experiences to adapt to the latest trends in the sector and the demands of a traveller whose main motivation is to feel unique emotions. A strategic shift that will be implementing in the next editions to destinations and businesses place your offer in the different trends “.
Such trends have been called by the salon in five apartado:
- B-Happy, travel with family and friends, the romantic getaways, wellness, etc
- B-Culture, proposals related to the art, history and culture such as film, theatre, music or photo tourism
- offer of tourism again B-Special, luxury, shopping, solidarity or rediscovery of the local
- B-Adventure, for lovers of sport, nature and adventure such as rural tourismsailing, mountain biking, etc
- B-Delicious, which includes eno-gastronomic routes
this year, for example, occur as B-Happy the Canary Islands or Cuba for its good temperatures and beaches; as B-Special shopping in Madrid, the culture of Ireland or the hidden treasures of Peru; are B-Culture, Israel, AragÃ³n and the city of Barcelona and as B-Adventure PatagoniaCroatia and the French region of Midi-PyrÃ©nÃ©es. Fall B-Delicious Galicia, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands and Catalonia.
During the presentation of B-Travel, Director-general of tourism of the Generalitat, Marian wall, pointed out that changing the classroom model is “completely aligned” with the strategic plan for tourism in Catalonia, which is based in promote experiences and not destinations.
This year brings together the range of experiences that deliver about 200 exhibitors, representing around 1,000 companies between domestic and international destinations, travel agencies, hotels, transport companies, shipping and tourism products and services.
B-Travel will also, with the B-Delicious gastronomic area.
Experiences and innovation
one of the main points of interest will be the B-Travel Experience Area, a space to learn about trends and new tourist products, as well as to share experiences with entrepreneurs, travellers, industry leaders and experts from different fields related to tourism.
Participating speakers as the President of the hotel chain Room Mate, Kike Sarasola; chefs star Michelin as Paco PÃ©rez and Fina Puigdevall; the architect Benedetta Tagliabue; the manager of Amaluna of Cirque du Soleil, Franck Hanselman, the director general of operations of Port Aventura, Fernando Aldecoa; as well as bloggers such as journalist of the country Paco Nadal, el Cocinero Fiel and ValentÃ Sanjuan.
Also held the Student Tourism Congress, a gathering aimed at students of tourism that will feature speakers such as chef Ferran AdriÃ or Ãlex Cruz, CEO of Vueling and health tourism Congress Healthcare & Tourism Summit.
In the classroom, in the MontjuÃ¯c Exhibition Centre, will be organized two business actions promoted by Barcelona Activa: the Job Market Place, which will bring together candidates and companies staffed vacant, and the networking Synergys session.
Also will take place the Travel Blogger Meeting, meeting focused this year on the picture of travel in the blogosphere which will attract more than 100 bloggers.
In addition to becoming an annual exhibition specialized in tourism experiences, B-Travel wants to position itself as a new digital platform, the B-Travel Community, so that travelling fans will know the developments in the sector throughout the year.
