A Turkish Airlines plane was diverted to Casablanca airport when flying between Istanbul and Sao Paulo by a bomb threat. The device has finally resumed its route, after checked that there were explosives on board.
TK15 flight had departed from Istanbul and was heading to the Brazilian city when a note was found in one of the toilets with the word “bomb”, as reported by a spokesman for the airline.
The crew of the Boeing 777, with 256 passengers on board, declared the emergency and the flight was diverted to Casablanca, where it landed about 14:30 hours. Once completed registration of the device and after finding that there was no explosives, aircraft has been able to resume flight.
This Sunday, another Turkish Airlines from Istanbul flight to Tokyo had to turn around shortly after takeoff, after finding a note that read “C4 Cargo”, in reference to a plastic explosive material, according to the Turkish media. In this case not found explosives.
